Tools for Event Planning

Event Planning Checklist

There are dozens of elements that go into any event, and it can easily overwhelm even the most careful of event-planners. This document is a basic, itemized, checklist, covering the major points of planning any event. They are listed in order, so the first items on the checklist should be done first, the second ones next, etc.

For large, decentralized events (such as Ferguson action days, MLK Day National marches, Pro-life rally days, Worldwide Pride marches, etc.), it can be difficult to keep track of each event being planned and/or encourage others to plan their own event independently from the organizers. A great way to do this is to use a combination of a Google form and a Google map. The result is an easy way for anyone to find and join their local event, and results in much less headaches for national organizers trying to keep track of each action.
