Battle of the Bands: Activism Can Reach the Mainstream
LOS ANGELES, CA – Hard Rock Rising’s Global Battle of the Bands is online now, with voting slated to end on Monday, February 16, 2015, 4:00 p.m. ET. A worldwide audience has the opportunity to weigh in. The winning artist will have a chance to take a spot on the stage at Hard Rock Barcelona, in Barcelona, Spain, in front of an audience of 60,000 people.
Solutions Institute advocates the candidacy of The Siren, who is best known for the invention of a genre of music called Epicstep, which draws from metal and dubstep. He has been covered by LA Weekly and MTV.com, and has performed on national television on Abby Martin’s Breaking The Set, hosted by RT News in Washington, D.C.
In addition, The Siren, along with Rooftop Revolutionaries, managed the music and sound equipment at United We Stand, a concert and activist event held in Los Angeles in 2014, where Solutions Institute’s founder, Dan Johnson, also appeared, gaining a large following for his speech against the provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
The Siren does more than create compelling soundscapes. He is an audio frequency scientist, singer-songwriter, music producer, and activist. His Epicstep tracks includes cuts from revolutionary speeches and his own radical activism, covering topics including politics, science, space, energy technology, and foreign affairs. His activist work has garnered him spots not just on Breaking the Set, but also on Alex Jones’s InfoWars, Jacques Fresco’s Venus Project, and Christina Tobin’s Coalition for Free and Open Elections.
The Siren’s YouTube channel has seen over 1,400,000 views of his “Fix You,” featuring Vita Chambers.
Winning the contest will allow The Siren to increase his exposure to music fans of all ages, spreading his message of liberation and transparency to a passionate audience hungry for truth. To support The Siren, visit his Hard Rock Rising contest page, hear his track, and vote with a click to endorse his candidacy and the cause of truth worldwide.
“I would rather live a life of passion and failure, than a life of triumph without my passions.” -The Siren
